as this line:

... here wondered me no end (and you said it was to do with a deprecated shipdata.plist of mine) I attempted to play with an empty AddOns folder. (Normal mode, NOT strict, just no AddOns in). Started the game, looked around in equipment shop and shipyard, bought a bit of stuff, flew my Cobra MkIII out & hyperspaced to Zaonce, flew to the main station and collided with the docking port. Ended the game, had a look at the stderr report.

Could it be that this line is not my OXP having a damaged shipdata.plist but some problem of the core game?

Because there were more of those when my OXP alone was in in addition, but that might only have to do with it having so many ships in it with which that error might occur.

Yes, I think we all saw it in our stderr.txt, not only for the player entity. I've checked the shipdata.plist and every ship has max_flight_speed set properly.

It seems to be just a thing that is logged, but normally all ships are doing what the shipdata says. But sometimes when a ship is already using it's injectors AND it has to flee AND it comes under fire it is much faster than in v1.70.

I think it is a feature to raise the difficulty, so a battle with more than three or four ships becomes a challenge.

BTW: @Lestradae. Sometimes it is better to use one thread/topic instead of creating a lot of them. :-)

Svengali is right. The message is logging an anomaly during ship creation, but the game takes care of the infinite speed problem by assigning a default speed value to the entity that is generating. Therefore, I believe it can be considered harmless.

Hmm, I don’t get the message here. One of those delightful platform differences, I guess. Bah.

Edit: Ahh, I know what it is. Fixed for 1.71.2 and 1.72.
