v.1.71 Dodgy Advanced Space Compass

Post by Commander Mysenses »

Intermittent fault with my Advanced Space Compass.
It will stop functioning completely (back to basic functions, planet/star/station), then flick back to operating perfectly.
Can do it several times within the same system, often after docking or occasionally during a large engagement.

And I got my Cob serviced a few jumps back too... bloody backstreet garages!

Cannot reproduce it. What SVN revision were you using when you noticed this? What OXPs do you have installed? Also, are you using Windows, Mac or Linux?

Edit: OK, reproduced it. The compass loses track of the Witchpoint and Navigation Beacons when a missile locks on a target. Commander Mysenses, can you please make a bug report at Berlios about it?

We posted at the same time, so just in case my edited post above was not seen:
Normally, SVN should report the version it checked out when it finishes. But never mind, you are correct that there is a problem. A bug report at Berlios would be very helpful at this point, instructions at the post by Ahruman at top of this board.

Apparently, the compass loses track of the W and N beacons when a target is selected, either by missile lock or by ID system activation.

Update: Fixed in trunk. Good job spotting it, Commander Mysenses. If you want, update the code and rebuild to confirm the fix.

The command “svn info” will tell you the revision number.

If you're using tortoiseSVN, when you update from svn the last line will say something like:

Completed At revision: XXXX

XXXX was the number another_commander was asking for.
Hey, free OXPs: farsun v1.05 & tty v0.5! :0)
