Well, that's a mea culpa on my part, but I can hardly claim the full responsibility, since as you quoted, Maegil:

I'll take this opportunity to issue a profound apology to Cobra El Diablo and declare my retirement from the Guild (even though I'd never actually paid my Guild fees) and hang up my sniping irons.

:cry: :cry: <chellos in an adagio> :cry: :cry:

It's easy to say that you won't hunt when there's no pray, but are you sure you'll keep feeling like that when the herds of spammers return to our pastures?
Won't the Tower's memories beacon you back when the barbarians again beat at the gates?

:cry: :cry: </end chellos> :cry: :cry:

:twisted: What are you expecting, something like that? :twisted:
Well, you did it because it was fun. If it's not fun anymore, dont!
I like to do it as it's one of the few places I can indulge in this bit of harmless roleplaying; on real llife I'm a single handed sailor and have to keep respect as such.

Of course I don't actully expect Ahruman to take the motion seriously, it's just roleplaying the character.
IMO it's even more fun to see that what we've created developed to the complexity - and wackiness - it did.

Woh, Dont go Captain Hesperus and Cmdr. Maegil, this thread is a great source of lunacy on the boards and given the number of hits provides a lot odd peeps with entertainment.

I don't expect my last post to mean anything to anybody who is not an English Barrister and a member of <clasified> Chambers and also appliying to <clasified> Chambers and also a Dr Who fan (paticulary series 3). Guess thats just me and my current Ka-tet then!

Thanks to Cmdr. Maegil for his contibuition to the HPA sarga, which enternied me coming back on the train from Ayslebury Crown Court to London! And Captain H for his many contributions to Oolite which have made me smile many times when checked on my laptop!

This thread is a great source for general lunacy.

</me longingly strolls around the empty tower, breaking cobbwebs as I climb the stairs to the top>
</me looks at the landscape sprawling all around, nothing but birds in the sky>

Ahhh... Such calm. Beethoven's Pastoral was written for such a scene!

:idea:

</me sets an altitude-fused shell to 150m and feeds it into the FlAK 88mm>
</me sets elevation>
</me sets direction>

Hey, guys! Does anyone want roast duck? There'll be plenty for all!

</me fires the FlAK 88mm>

I'd be careful with things like that, I don't think reills finished the reinforcing buttresses at the tower's base to manage the recoil of that monster.

Aw bugger!

Well, we'll just fix it later - or leave it as it is and turn it into a tourist attraction...

In the meanwhile, we can't just allow these poor, dead ducks - fallen from the sky as if they were angels - to go to waste, can we?
Now, we should start by plucking their feathers out. Do you mind collecting them while I go get the basin, the knife and the flamethrower?

So, what do you think would happen to the target of an 88 paintball shot?

Dust, cobwebs, and trumbles scurrying all around... Sheets over LMGs, the minefield's grass in desperate need of a good mowing and an abandoned bird's nest inside the 88mm... Whatever happened to this place during my absence?!

Hey, Maegil, welcome back! You're still above the surface, I'm glad to see! :D

There was a bit of a flurry around the walls a few weeks back, when the Recaptcha gate was experimentally lowered – only to be raised again a week or two later after the spam assassins' arms started to get tired ...

I saw the thread - to think you guys refused my class action proposal, only to go ahead and do it just before I got back... I hope you had fun!

The Tower might be in need of Hoovering and some paint work, but that doesn't mean we've been lax, oh no, far from it. There's always another spammer eager to get it's head blown off, which happens post haste. :twisted:
