Stuck with this lump of a ship

Well it's not so much a lump - it's a python class cruiser. It also kicks plenty pirate bottom too. However I have a catch. I can't buy another ship. The game crashes every time!

Edit: actually, the more important question is, are you trying to buy a specific other type of ship, or various ones? Can you buy a Cobra III?

If the PCC has subentities on its model, then yes, due to a bug in 1.70 you will not be able to buy another ship (at least not without editing a savefile).

If this is an occurence of the "can't sell ship with subentities" bug, then you will be pleased to know that this has been fixed for the next release.

The ramscoop slung underneath the PCC is a subentity... it's called

It's the CobraIII that I wanted to buy, it has a NEU fitted.

Another solution is to complete the Thargoid Plans mission. Thus paying me with a NEU. Iron butt complete with no need to change ship! Will want to upgrade to a faster ship for later missions though, so will wait and see if 1.71 irons out this blip. Meantime it's back to bashing pirates.
