Just dock with them, the same as with any station or carrier.

you need to communicate your intentions to them via low-tech laser communications.
they will respond by launching their most valued assets.

by the way does anyone know what an abandoned rock hermit is and why I have found it in the shipdata file of Ferdepai oxp ????

Ask the author of fer-de-pai or look into the shipdata.plist again to find out what AI it has and how it is different from the standard hermitage.
I never had it installed.
