The ongoing war against T

Post by Liquidator »

I am currently very keen on improving my kill-rating and often misjump to get to destroy aliens in witchspace. Even with the cool new Galactic Navy OXP it seems to be completely safe to do so (although it does appear that the battles have gotten more participants with this OXP).

In other words: If you misjump and linger there you will eventually end up getting to scoop or shoot all the little tharglets as you please with no risk of being shot at.

So the big question is:

Has anyone ever experienced that the Navy has lost a battle to the Aliens in witchspace?

Yes, I watched in bemusement as a Behemoth (Loki) and two Leviathans were utterly annihilated by a large formation of Thargorn Battleships and Cruisers. Rather cool to watch.

Until they sterted picking on me.....

I made sure to balance out the thargoids vs frigates in interstellar space by adding them at a 2 to 1 ratio. The key, however, is to make sure you have the "Thargon Threat" OXP installed - without the upgraded cruisers and battleships it provides, killing Thargoids is like swatting flies . What really wrecks havoc are those pesky remote craft. Eight of those buggers swarming any ship can destroy it in short order. Its just of question of will the mother ship survive long enough.

Oh, but I have the Thargon Threat installed. Maybe I should increase the copy number? ;)

Still, I have noticed that your Galactic Navy OXP has made the witchspace battles bloodier (more participants). Much appreciated! Thanks.

The increased number of Aliens is beginning to make trips to witchspace profitable.

The Wiki and the Readme only says you require the Behemoth OXP to run properly.

What you're saying then is that while the Thargon Threat OXP is not required to make your OXP run properly, it is required to balance out the game, which IMO is absolutely essential so you need to update the Wiki and readme to ensure that both the Behemoth and Thargon Threat OXP's are needed.

I can definitely add a "recommended" note to the wiki. To be clear though, I recommend it in general, whether or not you install the Navy OXP. Thargoids just aren't scary without it... unless you're a noob with a pulse laser in which case EVERYTHING is scary!

the only time i've seen the navy lose is when some ship either drops a cascade mine, or orbs enter the situation.
