How happy I was to find oolite Used to play it on the BBC, then elite plus on the PC - it's great to have this version to play now and then.
Having esatablished myself in the ooniverse I think i'm ready to add some more content. Missions and ships I guess. Had a glance over the wiki. What are the key oxp's i want to be adding here? Are there any involved missions (in fairness i haven't done any yet).
I basically have all the mission OXPs and a few flavour ones. I don;t have any of the extra ship sets as they can be a bit unbalanced (ie too powerful compared to the standard ships).
Basically goto the OXP page on the wiki and install anything that says it's a mission - although a lot of them don't get triggered until later galaxies.
Hi Taedal, I'm newish to the oxp thing also and have been trying as many as I can. I've only found one that definately caused me a crash(Orb.oxp) but that could be because it was relying on another oxp i didn't have?
Anyway I've got all the ones I want until Oosat1's files can be got at again, and I thought i'd post a list for others to comment on(bad conflicts etc) and that may give you a few ideas.
I agree with Hoopy that some of the extra ships can be a bit overpowering, but when I find that's the case I just edit the stats in that .oxps shipsdata+shipyard plist files. Mostly a reduction in speed and/or increase in cost can balance it out a bit.
I get some slow down now and then(mostly during distant combat+explosions it seems), but not often, and a slight pause just before and after a witchspace jump. I run 1.65 currently.

Thanks for that Taedal
I too have noticed that ships are easier to hit when they are vertical in your sights rather than horizontal. Makes it easier to strafe them too to knock out any turrets or extra lasers on those pesky renegades.

Hi jason, you would do well to complete the native missions as well as Longway Round, before taking on some of the more difficult OXP missions.
It won't take very long, and is an excellent way of early training to become an Elite commander. You can find more information here
