Capturing ships...

Post by GothStag »

I think it'd be great if you could capture a ship if the pilot bailed out or the ship was too badly damaged to move or fire. You could then sell the ship (or what's left of it) or repair it and fly it yourself.

There are a few ideas about this kicking around, although there are also some major technical issues too... check out the Salvaging Ships thread.

Cheers disembodied. :D

I wonder how much a ship would be worth with the engines & weapons & probably most of the equipment shot up. Probably just scrap vlue for the hull.

Which would just be another problem with salvaging ships, on top of the impossibility to script something like that...

Aegidian started work on a “remora torpedo”, but didn’t provide any documentation on how it was supposed to work or how much of the implementation is ready. I have no intention of working on it at this time.

@GothStag: So if you perform a search for "remora torpedo" here on the board, you will find pretty much everything that has been said about it in the last few years.

I had a look & it sounds very interesting. It would be a good thing to team with Ramirezs EMP missile. Knock out their circuits, give 'em a raking with the old Mil Laser then when they bail out capture the escape pod & take their ship!
