No long way!
I'm docked at Biarge & I'm above average but the long way mission hasn't started. Any hints?

Well, one very obvious hint: Have you downloaded and installed the longway.oxp? This is not a built-in mission!

I have installed the OXP in the add ons folder. Been out to a dredger and docked 4 times at Biarge checked out the contracts and still no mission. I'll try reinstalling it.

Strange. The mission should start as soon as you dock at Biarge's main station. You don't even need to be "Above Average", according to its script.
As soon as you land, there should be a mission screen popping up, giving you a briefing, telling you what to do next. You should not go to the market.
Have you perhaps pressed any key very fast, after docking for the first time? In that case you would have killed the mission screen. And it doesn't come back.
Please check this: Is there a short mission description in your ship's manifesto (press F5 twice)? If you read the words "Visit Soladies to pick up Orixon Behan.", then the mission has already started and you could do exactly this.
If you however want to read the complete mission briefing, then you have to open your pilot-file with a text editor. Find the lines
and just delete them. Then save your pilot file and start the game again. If you are docked at Biarge, then just wait for a couple of seconds, until the mission screen pops up. If you are anywhere else, jump to Biarge, dock and don't press any key instantly. The mission screen will pop up.
If nothing of that helps, then let me know.
