showShipModel: ?

Post by Commander McLane »

It seems that showShipModel: is somehow broken. LittleBear has struggeled with it in AsteroidStorm as well as in Assassins, and also I can't get it to actually display the ship I want.

This is not a new issue, but at least LittleBear has had his problems with 1.65.

I understand that it is used with the role of the ship you want to show (cf. wiki), even if Arexack_Heretic uses it with someship.dat in an example he posted in the Hesperus-thread. Am I right so far?

@ Ahruman or another_commander: Could you have a look into it?

Please provide a description of what the problem is (what you were doing, what you expected to happen, what actually happened, relevant error logs) and a test case at the bug tracker.

(And yes, it is supposed to take a role.)

Well, the problem is easily stated: I put showShipModel: in my script.plist when showing a mission screen, and nothing happens. No ship model is shown. Nothing in the error log. End of story.

I'll send you a mail with a testcase of the OXP I'm currently working on. I haven't got the nerve to open an account on BerliOs ATM (which I have to do in order to post anything there).
