Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has come across the following. I'm running version 1.65 on XP. About every third game crashes, usually when flying near a ghost ship, scooping up cargo container which is shown as yellow on the radar, asteroids which are shown violet (system vessels), etc. I am often able to avoid crashing the game if I recognize early enough an "invalid" object and hence do not interact with it. This is only suspicion/supposition:
The problem may be due to the graphics driver or to some component of the OS which has been updated.
I got this problem with 1.65 for a short time, then it went away. When I upgraded to 1.69 I got it regularly and had to downgrade to 1.65 again.
I run Debian Unstable and update daily - and there are lots of updates.
