Cargo containers are recycled, and often used to pack radioactives, you know. (tries to look innocent) Methinks someone at Decontam wasn't doing their job.

Impressive! Just in case Station Control does the math and you have to pour on full power and run for all nine lives, yes?
My cap is doffed to you, Capt'n, for a spectacular docking manouver. Though I recon you give the dockhands quite a scare.

... and I hope quite a tip afterwards? Alas, no, I can't really imagine Hesperus handing out anything to anyone, for free. So, just forget my remark.

Untrue, if you just remain docked for a few hours more OoPS will be dropping off a priority delivery: three hundred Trumbles just coming into their replication cycle!!!!

And who says I'm not generous......

I scooped a container of BBQ sauce. What timing...
Who's got a grill and a container of burger buns?

BTW, Capt'n, I off-market traded a container of spare parts to your engineer. I didn't ask about the nature of the multicolor pelts he traded in return, but considering the possible source, I *will* have that container throughly decontammed, fumigated and vacuum sealed before it's loaded aboard the Tiomat.

Good ol' Rus, he's a crafty as me when it comes to trading.

Well... A bit more complicated than that, actually. He mentioned life support, primary power couplings, and catastrophic failure. Uh-oh is damn right.

"Say no more, Cousin," I said, "I may have what you need, scooped it on my way in." See, us Lizards watch each other's tails Out There.

Keeping that junkheap of yours from falling apart, much less moving, makes Rus some kind of mechanical genius. The 'Improbable Luck' is a better name for it.

If you need, I've got a few containers of office equipament such as sellotape, paper clips and even rubber bands in case you get a malfunction on the prime mover...
You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

That derelict runs on rubber bands? Well, that explains some things...

If I salvage a few containers of duct tape for emergency hull patches, I'll be sure to send Rus a hail.

Nah, the Improbable Luck died of an unforseen asteroid hit that ripped the entire engineering section, but threw the ship into the Safe Zone right next to the station.
I miss that old bird....<sigh>

You constantly amaze me, Hesperus.

Despite incidents and/or raw laspes in judgement that should have resulted in your swift demise, you manage to survive with only minor damage to your person and dignity.

Clearly, some deity has taken a liking to you.

I'm not a religious person, but I make a point of visiting every temple, church, shrine and street preacher's pulpit before breaking from dock. There may or may not be a 'God' out there, but I'm not going to irritate him/her/them/it by ignoring him/her/them/it.

I'm personally not quite convinced there is a god or gods out there, but I do believe in Murphy's Law.

But if there is, I may be the first to question the sanity or sense of humor of such a being. How else to explain babel fish, edible poets, trumbles and Raxxla?
