I want my Firefly back!

Post by Liquidator »

I recently reached a million Credits which I spent on a brand new Lampyris.

Now I am getting tired of this somewhat big & clumsy ship, so I want to trade it for something else.

But pressing F3 I am offered a trade-in value of only 36000 Cr (seems to be generally consistent from planet to planet)!

Any explanations to this drastic drop in value???

Has it been a while since you serviced it? Price drops over time but will go back to normal after a service. Wait until the offer to service it is given and then sell it. That seems a big drop though!

When you take it for a service, take it to the highest-tech planet you can find, too. This might be superstition on my part but a high-tech service definitely seems to last longer, so maybe it's better at restoring value, too. Plus, you don't want some low-tech Quirium-monkey poking around in your witchdrive with a dirty twig, do you?

Thanks for the suggestions.

Trying to locate a high tech world nearby.

Havent really been suggested to give it a maintenance overhaul, though.

Turned out to be another explanation:

The shipyard.plist had somehow become corrupted.

A replacement got me my life savings back :D

Corruption along the lines of someone accidentally setting the price of the ship much lower than usual? ;-)
