v1.69.1 crashes due to sub ents in player ship

I've got my velocity.oxp installed (and using the ship) on the PC version of 1.69.1 and every time I die and get and i get the press space to continue message on screen after hitting the space bar the games bombs out. I've removed the sub ents from the ship and the crash no longer happens.
