1.69.1 crashes upon launch
sent the report using the crash reporter, and appended the log in the comments.
i only see the gray-ish screen where it says, "loading ooniverse" or something similar, and then it crashes. =(

additionally, i used the update version. thought maybe if i downloaded the full version i might get different results.... however, that was not to prove so. everytime i try to download it stalls at 3-5mb and refuses to continue or resume. i cannot download it no matter what i try. i've been able to download other things without issue, so i'm thinking that it is the download site perhaps.

Silly me, misread. It was in fact related to loading PNGs. Hmm, what’s changed there?
On another note, the log in the comments field was mostly truncated. I guess I’ll have to change to requesting only the last few lines of the log. :-/

Dunno. The crash log doesn’t provide that much information.nijineko wrote:i'll bounce you a copy of the log to the new addy you announced. which png's specifically, out of curiosity?

ah well, it's there. ^^ i sent it as i posted. =D i would re-install the previous version, but silly me didn't backup before i ran the update. =P
oh, forlorn! woe is me! ;D
incidently, berlios is stalled yet again. i got up to 6mb on the full download, and it claims it is at about 4k/sec transfer, but no data is being received from the site. other downloads function just fine. so i still can't get the file from the download site. =(

Strange; it works for me. But BerliOS is notable for somewhat inconsistent quality.

Me too
Thought Id let you know that I also have the same problem, both with an updated 1.68 and a fresh 1.69.1 install. I suspect downloading the full version wont help you.
No OXPs installed, no nothing
Im on an Intel Core Duo MacBookPro OSX 10.4.10.

One of the things I feel reasonably certain about is that the updaters work, that is, updating the Mac version will either result in something functionally identical to the full download, or fail (because you’re trying to patch too old a version). However, this assumes you haven’t changed any of the files in the application bundle.

any chance of getting a copy of 1.69 off of someone so that i can play again? please?!?! ^^
edit: i went through the log and removed everything that was causing a log report (mostly cases of improper nomenclature causing an invocation of the homebrew parser (soon to be removed) due to the normal xml parser getting confused.) to see if that would allow it to launch.
but to no avail. it did have the effect of shortening the log, but that was about it. ^^ so i sent off another report using the smartreport thing. =D

Is it consistently crashing on launch? Without any OXPs installed? fornicationcookies. I’ve now got three different crash logs for x86 Macs referring to png_read_start_row + 21, which doesn’t even seem to be a valid instruction offset. I’ve made 1.69 (as well as 1.68) available again from BerliOS.
