V1.69 demoships.plist not being reread after editing

Post by Griff »

Not a big problem, in fact this might actually be how it's supposed to work (!) but i've just noticed that oolite 1.69 doesn't 're-read' in any changes you've made to an .oxp's demoships.plist file unless you do something drastic like take out the oxp from the addons folder, start then quit oolite then put back in the oxp, or alternatively you can leave in your oxp and take out or add in another one, basically any changes to the oxp installed in your addons folder get oolite to re-read the demoships.plist but editing it does not.

Changing the contents of a file inside an OXP does not change the folder modification dates Oolite uses to determine whether it needs to throw out its cache file (under OS X or, it appears, Windows). Holding down shift while Oolite starts should fix this (there will be a log message, “[dataCache.rebuild.explicitFlush]: Cache explicitly flushed with shift key. Rebuilding from scratch.”). Prior to 1.69, this can be fixed by creating a new folder in the AddOns folder (or any OXP folder) and deleting it.

This restriction applies to all config files except logcontrol.plist and keyconfig.plist.
