Not that funny
The 3 years old daughter of a very good friend of my wife has just been kidnapped this morning in Port Harcourt (Nigeria) on her way to school. These bast.rds broke the window of the car and took the child by force. They stabbed the driver as well.
I am so so sorry and sad.

Heard about it on the news. Christ, that's scary stuff. I hope they get her back safe.Makandal wrote:The 3 years old daughter of a very good friend of my wife has just been kidnapped this morning in Port Harcourt (Nigeria) on her way to school. Also saw it on the news first, then read your post. Our thoughts go out to your friends, and as the Capt said, I hope she's returned safe.

As you could see in the news, she is safe and released but kidnappings continues.
Yesterday, at 11pm, they attacked a vessel of an oil company near Calabar and kidnapped 2 workers. I have some friends who were kidnapped recently. They told me yesterday their ordeal, it was very bad. For example, they were wrapped in bedsheets and buried in the ground alive for a small while. Or they choose randomely one of them, say they will execute him, took him outside, shoot in the air and locked him separatly from the others during 4-5 days in order to make believe he was dead.
Either it is a child or adult, you should understand in Europe, in the US or in places where people are walking upside down like Australia or NZ, that these guys are NOT fighting for freedom or for a share of the oil revenue but they are simply criminals.

That sounds really terrible. Good that she is now safe.Makandal wrote:As you could see in the news, she is safe and released but kidnappings continues.

F'ing terrorist slime...
I deeply hope the law catches up to those thugs.
Unfortunately, any punishment sentenced would be too good for 'em.

If it was on a ship, it's piracy. Unfortunately sea captains aren't allowed to hang them on the main mast anymore...Cmdr Wyvern wrote:F'ing terrorist slime...

You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

What about keel-hauling? You get to punish them and scrape the barnacles off your hull in one easy action. Granted if you have a yacht, it's not such a punishment, but imagine a tanker......Cmdr. I don't think it's piracy, per se.Cmdr. Maegil wrote:If it was on a ship, it's piracy. Unfortunately sea captains aren't allowed to hang them on the main mast anymore...Cmdr Wyvern wrote:F'ing terrorist slime...

Modern pirates lock up the crew and jack the ship, sailing it off to China to fence the cargo.
These punks don't seem interested in theft, havn't contained their attacks to offshore, and in general seem motivated to frighten the hell out of the locals there.
Why is anyone's guess, but it sure reeks of a form of unprovoked terrorism to me.
