No irony detected. Why shouldn't you be making a hi-res clone? It just goes to show that a game series that started 20+ years ago still has the effect of making grown men (and women) go "Oh! That's cool!". I wonder if Half-life, Halo or their ilk will have that effect in twenty years time. I seriously doubt it..

Yep, you're right. I wonder why no game company releases a _real_ Elite/Frontier clone with _real_ solar systems, galaxies and so on. Why must every universe be flat (X-series) and has simple orientations like north, west, south, east?

If I see this community the market for that kind of game couldn't be so small...
