No advanced space compass

Post by lolwhites »

Have just managed to move everything across from my Windows partition and extract the oxps. Everything seems to be OK except the Advanced Space Compass doesn't work. Hitting # does nothing; Is it another key in the Linux version?

This was a problem on the early version of the windows port.

All is not lost though, Oolite was playable, but finding the Coriolis was sometimes a bit tricky. IIRC the station was made more visible in a later build so you may be ok. Some OXP missions eg Assassins, make use of the advanced compass so you need to check. Hopefully the problem will be fixed, it is a right pain though.

#? On mine (Debian & a UK keyboard) the backslash key (bottom row, next to shift) is the one to use.

That's the forward slash. The backslash is above the Enter key.

Debian & a UK keyboard
I repeat UK Keyboard which, you will find has the back slash where I described, and which is why I described its location.

Ah. Didn't realize they were different. Looks like next time I better pay more attention and do a little research before trying to correct someone :) (and making a fool of myself)

I'm playing 1.65 on Ubuntu. The backslash key for me changes targets in the advanced space compass. Yeah the backslash is the one where the top of the slash is to the left of the bottom of the slash. :)
