The only thing with moving to the wiki is it will mean yet another effort to move everything to Oosat Three.

The idea is very attractive, though. One less piece of software to administer.

What's the thoughts of the main OXP writers? Drupal as it is, or enable the Wiki for this kind of thing?

I'm not an OXP writer, much less a 'main' one, but I'd like to see it on the wiki. It would really centralize everything... But I'd still like to see the OXPs in quick-and-easy megapacks.

Why not making a poll about it?
You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

As stated before, I'd be up for using the Wiki to store the OXPs. It's easier to manage, everyone's fairly familiar with it and it has much better spam protection in it.

Setting it up as an Oosat should be easy enough - once the files are uploaded just create a new category under Oolite called Oosat and put quick links to the OXPs to start with, then as time goes by the OXP creators can create a dedicated page for each one then link it ot the category page.

Or something like that.

OK - I'll have a fiddle with the wiki (I also probably need to upgrade to the latest version of MediaWiki too). It gets much less spam as it is (there was so much on Oosat2, that I just ended up deleteing all the comments directly with an SQL query in the database), and more people patrol it.

It'll have to happen on the weekend though.

For features such as ships, I'd suggest adding the OXP download directly to the ship's information page, and adding the 'oosat' category. Indeed, some standardisation on categories would be helpful: perhaps

Oosat/ships
Oosat/missions
Oosat/equipment

. . . so a user can just go to the right category for whatever it is they want to browse.

I reckon stations could do with a category too, if that's possible.

I think stations should go into an Oolite/Systems category, so that they can be placed with other system modifications like Commies, Dictators and eventually Anarchies (possibly TOGY, Coporates, etc.)

People seem to prefer the wiki approach: https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?t=3218
