In a further spate of good news, the co-ordinating site for one of the botnets that has been attacking us is now gone. I’d like to think this has something to do with the e-mail I sent to its ISP’s abuse@ address. Presumably it’ll be back once the perp finds a new ISP, but we do what we can.

It was that, and the fact I took out the main server from a tower half a mile away....
Oh, I just noticed that the mail ban list is now working again, although the old list is gone.
Never fear, your faithful band of loyal (if somewhat unhinged) Spam Assassins and Clock-Tower Nutters shall remain ever vigilant. Except at four o'clock, because that's breaktime. Union Rules, honest guv.
Pah! Good speling os for u pidestriuns. Im on the fsat trak bbay. Oh, carp.
I did see those but without clear evidence of botness I left them be. Aren't we running the risk of innocent accounts being terminated?
I agree. Can't we advise nOobs to at least put 'Interests: Oolite' or 'Interests: not having my virtual head blasted off by that Clock-Tower Nutter', just for ease of notificaton.
Ahruman: Heh, looks like my efforts weren't alone. Many thanks for the assist! One or two e-mails from a single person don't do much, but when several band up and start submitting complaints, head start rolling!

If that's the case, then next time we get spam-bombed, can you post the perp's ISP abuse e-mail address, so that the ENTIRE COMMUNITY can complain. That should get them terminated with some prejudice!!!
