Ship Models

Greetings my dear Oomans, it is I the one and only, back with more dumb questions!

So I was thinking, is there anyway to get the Oolite ship models, as in the .blend or other 3D files ? I'm not exactly sure what to do with the .dat files in the game.

Please forgive me if this isn't the right place to post this or the answer to this is really obvious.
