Re: Screenshots
The contrasting red on the night side is quite striking. More information, please. Is that something anyone might see from a fortuitous combination of OXPs, or did it require much deliberate tweaking?

Re: Screenshots
Lovely shots, a_c. Interestingly, I couldn't see anything on my iPad (10th Gen), all the shots were just black. On my phone (iPhone 12Pro) I could see the SDR shots. On my PC I got the SDR versions fine. I can't get a good HDR setup with my current kit - my main monitor can handle HDR, but I don't think my graphics card can (Geforce GTX 1660) - whenever I turn it on everything goes a lovely shade of grey. Which is fine if I wanted to simulate gaming in a pea-soup English fog, but I find it tends the lessen the experience somewhat!

That is just a standard "night lights" illumination map. Only instead of lights we show these emissive gas masses. Standard setup with the illumination map inserted in the alpha channel of the planet's diffuse texture. system.mainPlanet.illuminatuonColor set to red and it's ready. When I get access to my dev PC I will post the yet unpublished oxp for reference.Wildeblood wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 6:48 amThe contrasting red on the night side is quite striking. Re: Screenshots
Do the hdr pngs I occasionally post on Discord appear normally on the iPad? If yes then it is probably something with the postimg cc encoding. If they appear black as well then most likely it is something with the iPad.phkb wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 6:55 amLovely shots, a_c. The GTX 1660 is hdr capable as far as I can tell. Maybe the issues have more to do with the monitor or the cabling, HDMI/displayport etc. If Windows leta you turn hdr on then it is supported. Be aware of those scam HDR400 "certified" IPS panel monitors though. Those can really destroy the experience and I would say that they are the main reason behind many of the misconceptions surrounding hdr.
Hope you get it working at some point because once you experience good hdr there is no going back.

Maybe you can also try a different browser on the iPad?

Oh! And I just figured it out! The monitor has to be manually switched to HDR mode - it doesn't auto switch when Windows turns on HDR.
Dang it. If I'd worked this out sooner I could have done that video in HDR.

Re: Screenshots
That looks like "Reorte is a Hot Giant" in Oolite 1.90. And the laser position is an issue with how the game determines the order in which to draw things.Cholmondely wrote: ↑Thu Jul 24, 2025 7:27 pmWhat's the planet (and which OXP)? And what happened to the laser beam?
