@Rxke - thanks - this would be like the Asteroids of Charlie's that LB is using in his new OXP?

Re: Commies is cool!
Thanks. As you start filling your add-ons folder the systems suddenly become much more alive. I wish my machine could handle them all at the same time.DaddyHoggy wrote:@Doc - just entered my first Communist system post installation of Commies_v1.81 and I just wanted to say - "job well done!" - as I've also installed sunskimmers and piratecoves - at the same time my journey around the system was extremely eventful!
Yes as long as you manage to dock manually, you can dock anywhere without ending up in shackles or worse. But it's probably been a pirates cove. Afaik they are the only ones to trigger the klaxon.DaddyHoggy wrote:Do Rock Hermits always trigger a red alarm now - or am I just (un?)lucky in always getting a pirate cove? I got to shoot the poop out of several asps and FdLs before collecting their flotsam and I still got to dock with the RH to top up on precious metals and stones!
SCs also yeild a good amount of cargo. Wouldn't go anywhere dangerous without my mil lasers these days.DaddyHoggy wrote:I also met my first SupraCobra (not one of yours I know but like I said it was an eventful trip) - he swore at me just as I vaporised him (boy am I glad I installed Mil Lasers just before the jump! )
Wouldn't want to compare with something as grimy, as off-centre tipped and with the lack of structural integrity of the Worker's Commuters - not even starting to think of the daily free public use by thousandsDaddyHoggy wrote:Those Worker's Commuters are huge! You don't appreciate their size on the opening title screen. Hmmm, big ships, bigger "TV's" - are you compensating for something doc...
Right on commander. I might tune down the appearance of the Thought Police. I don't really remember how common I made them, but too many appearing together is a nuissance. Your Advanced Space Compass will guide you to both the Astromines and the Factories. The factories (SLAPU and CZGF - so far they only differ in models) are only to be found in Commie systems of tech level 8 or higher and you should be able to spot one without having the ASC repaired (next to the sun).DaddyHoggy wrote:Being thanked by a people's police (Ray?) for helping take on two fugitives (my biggest bounties yet too 101 and 97 Cr) was nice but the Neuropol one made me jump as it filled up my comms with brainwashing material during a close fly by.
I didn't see a SLAPU - is there one in every communist system? My Advanced Compass was damaged in my first skirmish so I don't know whether they show up as anything special.
Thanks for your ideas. Suggestions are always welcome. And even if I don't pick up on it immediately, I usually look through the relevant thread before doing an update. I'll keep it legal to shoot Asteroids for now, since there are so many of them that there are always some to use for punishments. The commie governments don't even get upset, if you scoop their minerals - I don't think that it's possible to implement a ban on scooping minerals in certains systems atm - the option would be nice.DaddyHoggy wrote:Finally a suggestion: I'm guessing prisoners are punished by being made to mine the asteroid fields. How about making the shooting up of asteroids in Communist space an offence? How can the people's party punish people to the full extent of the law if Imperialist commercial-driven scum from outside the system destroy the tools of punishment for a single credit at a time!

See here for information about the Ray Mark I, the unique ship used by the Communist States to secure their spacelanes and extra-systemic space. Includes information of the shadowy NeuroPol.

"The only thing sinister about NeuroPol is their constant stream of rhetoric. Do they really think they're gonna convert the masses with a few words and a Military Laser? Well, okay. The Military Laser's a good arguement."

Just one question - would they really arrest an Escape Pod?

The wiki article on the Ray MK-1 has been updated and one has been written on the Giant Ray. They are by The Capt'n, so you know you'll want to read them

He is very good - but I'm amazed that the recoil from his rifle doesn't occasionally cause him to mistype....

Nice one CH - could I suggest "first" rather than "firs" (unless you're referring to the tree variety - but it would be non-contextual )
Keep up the good work - every splendidly turned out paragraph just increases the richness of the Oolite Ooniverse.

After many changes of ship and identity and smuggling in a variety of bodily orifices <shudder> to avoid the ever-vigilant NeuroPol officers of the Though Police, our intrepid adventurer brings you the data regarding the technically advanced Solar Laboratory And Production Unit
