Re: 1pm 7th July 2024 - Oolite Anniversary Party (London)
I'm really sorry to say this, guys, but I won't be able to make it in person.
It's going to be a 3+ hour trip there and same back again and for an uncertain amount of time actually being with you all I just can't work out any sensible logistics around this. I'd need to be up and travelling from 6am to have any chance of decent time there and wouldn;t be getting back till real late on Sunday. All this dependent on trains.
Car travel is just as complex what with having one of those new-fangled EVs and uncertainty around travelling distances.
So...as I said, sorry...
Is there still a plan to have a virtual presence possibility?

If you can make it down to Oxford, I can happily give you a lift in my inter-city palanquin (and you should be able to recharge here if you have the equipment to plug in...). Probably want to leave c. 11.00amSelezen wrote: ↑Fri Jul 05, 2024 2:35 pmI'm really sorry to say this, guys, but I won't be able to make it in person.

As regards virtual presence, no idea. There have been a number of questions, but you are addressing a chap who does not even have an e-mail and prefers to communicate by Semaphore...

Unfortunately I'm probably not going to manage it either.
Stuck in Ireland (Mostly Agricultural, tech level 8 ) and probably won't get back over until too late.
Will raise a pint of evil juice (in suitable black colours) in your honour though if not...

For those who can't be there in person, is Zoom an acceptable platform for the digital meetup? I'm happy to set up the meeting/code/etc.

Thanks for the offer, Cholmondely, but I haven't gone ahead with the alternate care plans for Mrs Selezen so it's all moot.
phkb thanks, I'll drop in at 1

If you're at the pub and see someone wearing a yellow red and black Star Wars themed shirt shout out/wave when I arrive as I don't know what anybody looks like as my normally travelling companions @selezen and @drewwagar will be absent.

There's a new meeting link in the spoiler space above. Zoom meetings (the free ones) can only go for 40 mins!).

Just to say “Thank You” to Phkb and to Mr Flibble for organising the electronic meeting.
And also to those who travelled from far and wide to be there - and to those who joined us electronically!
