1pm 7th July 2024 - Oolite Anniversary Party (London)

Post by Cholmondely »

According to Wikipedia.org, Aegidian first published Oolite in July 2004.

The Angel Pub

61 St Giles High Street, London WC2H 8LE

1pm Sunday 7th July 2024

Close to Tottenham Court Road underground station (Northern/Central lines).

Aegidian hopes to be in attendance!

I can see no reason why marital counterparts tolerant of their spouse's predilections should not be welcome (if they can withstand being bored rigid by a bunch of people they have never met before!).

It was where Aegidian initially met up with NoSleep et al to discuss the music for Oolite.

Previous Preamble...

I'm rather interested in throwing a party! And force-feeding Cody pink gins until he pops!

In the UK, I could do so in London, or Oxford or even possibly Birmingham (Possibly at the Lunar Society!).

I'd also be happy to help subsidise a round of pink gins somewhere in Australia - and also in Europe (Germany).

We would need to decide the date. And bamboozle Aegidian and Cim into coming along!

And also dig up some of those who came to the last party who have since been guzzled by the Witchspace Lobster.

Should that have been "2004"?

And I'll probably have to attend via Zoom! If there's a group photo, maybe someone can hold up an iPad with my Zoom video running it in!

2024? That really was forward thinking of him.

Not really one for parties but it's a worthy anniversary and I hope the hypothetical event goes well.
I'd raise a glass from a distance.

What a lovely thought. Which location would get highest chance that aegidian participates?

He's currently boating about the place. Both Oxford and Birmingham are on canals.

Thinking loudly:

We have user names. We could translate them to email addresses using the forum's user database and send an invite with rsvp.

If they respond: Yay!
If they respond and come: Yippie-Ya-Yay!
If they do not respond: Deactivate the account so noone can hijack it.

Welcome back...

Are you aware that Phkb is planning all sorts of horrendous and horrific modifications to your PlanetFall?

Oh! And do you by any chance have a copy of the modified PlanetFall with the landing strip?

I am aware, and am looking forward to seeing what comes of it.

Bearing in mind how long ago (and what Oolite version it was) when I wrote it, there's a lot of potential for improvements given how things have evolved.

I'll have a look and see if I have Eric's landing strip version or not, but maybe not as I wasn't keen on it (as the landing strip ended up the size of a small country on the planet texture).
