addVisualEffect strange results

Post by cag »

Over the summer, addVisualEffect has changed to produce different effects. The color change is obvious but they are now somewhat transparent, if that helps.

Nov.1 build shows same as Sept.3.

Also present in HDR test builds. Doesn't matter if my display is in HDR mode or not. I've tried 5 builds w/ 4 oxp mixes.

Can anyone reproduce this so I can exclude the possibility my PC needs a rebuild? Use either the Sept.3/22 or Nov.1/22 dev build, telescope (either 1.15 or 2) w/ 3D model on and model is backlit by planet or moon.

I'd be delighted to help out.

Alas, the only AppleMac build is that from February...

This seems to have changed at around the time we implemented rendering to framebuffer. Will have to check further.

Fixed in revision 29a2fc0. Now that we are using a 16-bit floating point framebuffer we need to remember to clamp the alpha values ourselves - it is not done automatically like it used to when we were rendering on 8-bit framebuffer.
