Easter Eggs

Post by Cholmondely »

I'm trying to formulate a list of which OXP's come with Easter Eggs hidden inside.

Any ideas?

This is what I have so far:

The Galactic Almanac OXZ (needs GNN to enjoy the easter eggs)
BuoyRepair
Chrysopelea OXP
Aquatics OXP
Re2dux Ships
The Classic Ships OXP
Random Hits OXP
Montanas Resource Pack 01
The Assassins Guild?

List with clues of where to look:
The Galactic Almanac OXZ (needs GNN to enjoy the easter eggs)
BuoyRepair - think big! (copied from Svengali's post)
Chrysopelea OXP
Aquatics OXP - visit Aqualina
Re2dux Ships - explore the asteroid clusters!
The Classic Ships OXP
Random Hits OXP (any tips? I've not tried this one)
Montanas Resource Pack 01 (peer inside/scoop up some of the new cargo containers) and mooch about some of the rarer solar coronae with Telescope or some such attached

Looks enticing so far.
I had this wishful idea that I had put in something like an easter egg in the Military Fiasco mission, but it's very unlikely (one can't say 100% for certain because I don't have the original and Mr. Walsh' curated version is concealed in fancy javascript). But looking back at it now, I suspect what made me misremember this detail, I made music for it! :D

Is it worth while giving people a hint as to where to look? You can just edit the Wikipedia page, if you don't wish to publish it here...

I'm not sure if it count's as an easter egg but some of the stations in the game have the Welsh words for 'Welcome', 'Slow Down' in their docking bays, i see the words written a lot here on road signs and it made me chuckle to think that somehow Welsh becomes a standard galactic language by the time of Oolite,i guess Llandudno must have entered the space race at some point :)

Why not. If it was spoken as an alien tongue in a sci-fi, no way I'd have caught it, but assumed it was a constructed language. It would fit a benign race.

Yeah, your Icos have that "Welcome" sign.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Gentle Reminder!

Are there any more OXP's with Easter Eggs which should be added to the list above?

Not really an Easter egg but ADCK Imperial Trader and Wyvern Explorer include some rare encounters with ships from the Achenar Empire or the Alliance of Independent Systems.
Scars remind us where we've been. They don't have to dictate where we're going.

SOMETHING is spawning ships really, really far from the rest of the system...especially in interstellar space.
...this may be more a bug than an Easter Egg though.

And you'll need Long Range Scanner OXP (a cheating OXP) to even find them and teleport to them.
