Galaxy Jump
Hi Elitists,
Been years since I posted on here but I'm having problems with obtaining Galaxy Jumper in Galaxy 8.
After much hunting, I was in the lower left corner of the galaxy am now central and after much research identified the only TL 14 planet, pass on name, after Hyper jumping to it I did not save game BECAUSE planet has very little equipment to sell and certainly NOT a Galaxy Jumper.
I want to get back to Galaxy 7 and start all over again, I'm assuming you cannot do so.
If that is the case, I'm playing V1.7 something, is possible to download AND TRANSFER my saved V1.7 and all my OXP's to the latest version of Olite please?, I've downloaded it and I love the graphics but I'm blowed if I'm starting off as a raw recruit.
Cheers for any advice

Re: Galaxy Jump
You can certainly transfer your save-game and OXPs to 1.90 (but always keep a backup of your save-game).
Eagle comic, eh? Showing your age, amigo!

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Re: Galaxy Jump
Galactic Hyperdrives should be available for 5000 credits from any system of tech level 11 or greater.
Add-ons can make them MUCH harder to find...
And don't go to Oresrati in Galaxy Chart 8 unless you have a working Gal. Hyperdrive to leave from there!

Re: Galaxy Jump
I'll have another look, have jumped to Tequenes, a TL13 and no Galaxy jumper listed, and been too plenty of 11,12,13 planets non with GJ.
I thought GJ was standard purchasable equipment, do I have a glich OR do I need an OXP ? Cheers
Re: Galaxy Jump
My age ancient, 73, yep 73 played orinal Elite for years on a Commodore 64 , then graduated to a pc and found Oolite, been playing on and off for about 15 years.
However, being ''old school'' I have to ask how you carry your saved game from V1.7 to V1.9, I have attempted on previous occasions with no luck, the is currently saved and loaded from a USB stick. many thanks.

Re: Galaxy Jump
You'll need to delve into the folders and files. Your save-file can be found in
73? I'm pushing 70, and played Elite on a BBC Micro.
Oolite\oolite.app\oolite-saves
. Copy the save-file (commandername.oolite-save
), and drop it into the Oolite\oolite.app\oolite-saves
folder within the new Oolite install.73? I'm pushing 70, and played Elite on a BBC Micro.

Re: Galaxy Jump
Are you using any OXP or OXZ add-ons?
Does Galaxy Jumper mean something other than Galactic Hyperdrive?
I played original Elite for years on a Commodore 128 (in 64 mode).
Re: Galaxy Jump

Re: Galaxy Jump
Did it work? Did your commander survive the transfer? Do the newer versions of the OXP's still enhance your game?
And which OXP's do you prefer?
