Source Code Download

Post by penguify »

When I try to download the source code for Oolite, it simply takes ages of tedious sifting. I don't have the patience to download each file individually. Is there anyway to get the code without the SVN place? Like a zip file or something?

No way other than SVN. Once you have it, it is quick to get updates. Just the first checkout of the sound, music, and graphics files is painful.

Then are there any scripts or Automator files to do it with? There are thousands of files, and it takes me ages to get them all. I'm sure my mac could do it much faster, I just don't know how to get it to download them and filter them and all that.

Learn to use the svn command-line tool. You can get a binary package here (right-hand side). Documentation is here. Instructions on getting all the source are here (svn checkout svn://svn.berlios.de/oolite-linux/trunk).
