As you say, barbaric! Such is/was the fate of many small birds across Europe - even the robin!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Gastronomy can be inhumanly cruel. I don't know if that seemingly sweet french grandmother-type had the birds' eyes picked out before drowning them in eau-de-vie, but she certainly enjoyed gnawing the back of their skulls and sucking out their brain mass. I recall she was a lover of bullfighting too. :x

But not just the french eh? Similar UK customs are there?

Not to such ghastly extremes, at least not that I'm aware of. I'm a meat eater, but I'm very fussy about the source/type.

Sounds similar to me. A serving of la selección del rey in Venezuela drove me to vegetarianism for many years, but I came out of it.
I like to think the meat I eat now is delicate and humanely sourced, but ignorance can make a hypocrite out of most of us.

I believe Spam is considered a delicacy in South Korea.

I hope this isn't true. They have so many other good things to eat.

Perhaps "delicacy" was the wrong word - try luxury.

Spamming the Spam thread - a sign of the times?

 amazing. I can imagine a reaction in the voice of John Cleese.

it is not de rigueur? Things usually get back on track eventually.

Just found this lurking as a "registered user"

Google Adsense [Bot]

I can see the point in having Google bots which presumably register stuff for the Google search pages.

But a Google Adsense [Bot]?

There's no avoiding the Grey Ones! And the vast majority of Guests are bots/crawlers. They're everywhere!

Another bot swarm, mostly from (previously clean) Chinese IPs. Swapping the lightsaber for a flamethrower …

Which leads to a question: do lightsabers ever need recharging?

Sometimes, when they're low on gas, you have to put a thumb over the top before you click the button. This is one reason why so many Jedi are deficient in the hand area.
