Do you know any interesting places where you can earn good money?
Now I fly from Xevera to Ladigeso and trade. I earn ~6500 Cr with 170 tons of cargo space. I am not sure if this is a good place to earn money, I recently played Oolite in 2013
Maybe you know where you can quickly raise your rank? Where there is always some simple fight, or you can always meet the Thargoid ship. Now I get attacked in Ladigeso, but it happens too rarely.

When I started, I did a lot of runs in G1 between the devil's triangle and the next advanced system. Computers/machinery for furs and wine. Most income I had from Galactic Navy missions, Random Hits contracts and Feudal States tournaments.
Scars remind us where we've been. They don't have to dictate where we're going.
Xevera/Ladigeso is a good place to start - it's only a short jump, so you'll have plenty of fuel with which to escape back to normal space. As for making money: if you have the patience to slowly build your courier reputation, parcel contracts are probably the most lucrative. I've made over 30 million as an interstellar courier! You will get plenty of action too, once the assassins start on you. I don't get out of bed for less than 20k per parcel now!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Thanks for the hints. 30 million, not bad. I do not know if I will want to be a courier. Anyway, the fight against the Thargoids works! But Force Misjump only works on the keyboard.

Pretty good. In fact, fighting Thargoids is easier than fighting pirates. It's easier to keep your distance, but a bit harder to aim at them. You just have to remember to focus your attack on Thargoid Warship. We destroy robots when there is no Thargoid Warship left.

Thank you for that video. I meanwhile got accustomed to shooting thargoids like that. Which means interstellar space lost it's threat.
And in fact that allows for yet another combat maneuver:
When pirates or other enemies are behind you, you can flee by jumping. The only problem: Either you barrel-roll to dodge their laser hits, or you hold the ship steady for jumping. But what if interstellar space is an option? It means you can jump right while barrel-rolling, end up with the thargoids which can be shot easily and survive...

There are caveats attached to those methods of evasion.

Of course there are. And there are caveats when not evading.
Some types of enemies (assassins definitely, possibly some types of pirates*) can and will follow you through hyperspace.
Using IS to evade is fine if you have enough fuel to escape IS. Interstellar Rescue may help, but don't rely on it.
*I think Pirate Interceptors and Aegis Raiders (but I ain't too good at making sense of AIs).
