Harpoon Nuclear Torpedo, coming to an Oosat2 near you...

Post by Cmdr Wyvern »

...eventually.

Introducing the Harpoon Nuclear Torpedo.

This piece of ordinance packs a 2 megaton plutonium fission warhead into an ECM hardened missile, for an unprecidented bang for the buck.

Slower and less agile than a typical Hardhead, making it a less than ideal weapon against fast ships, the nuke torpedo is a thing to be feared among heavy cruisers, with a longer range and the ability to kill or severely damage heavies with one round, with minimal collateral damage.

Found at TL 9 and up, for 500cr apiece.

In my tests with it, Pythons, Boas, Anacondas, and Thargoid Warships were utterly destroyed when hit with this thing. But it barely scratched the paint on a Dredger, and just pissed off stations.
I havn't shot one at a Behomoth yet, so no telling what kind of damage it would do to one. Probably knock the shields off, at least.

In the ooniverse, fission nukes are old school tech. It's not as powerful as a q-bomb, nor is it supposed to be.
