Searching for a station I found something that was green on the astrogation display but turned out to be a liner.
When I asked for docking clearance I even got one, but then I was lost as how to approach and dock on a liner.
Does it have some entrance to fly into? Do I just approach until - well I died.
Or is some special equipment required?

Re: Liners docking
Two methods for a normal space-ship which can physically fit into the liner's dock:
1) Use docking computers. I don't think that the liners OXP needs tweaking so that they work (as Deep Space Dredgers did)! See wiki page on liners for details.
2) Use ILS. Best to manoeuver first so that you are facing the dock. ILS is very dangerous - even more so when you have either Telescope or Targetting OXPs loaded and have bought one of them. See wiki page on ILS for more details.
Cody probably has the skills to dock with a moving liner without equipment. I don't.

Re: Liners docking
There is a chance that I did not have the docking computer on that ship installed. ILS was not visible either.Cholmondely wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 10:37 pmTwo methods for a normal space-ship which can physically fit into the liner's dock:

Actually I did not even see any opening in the hull that I could have sneaked into - neither from the aft nor the bottom. Somehow I did not take the time to properly look at the top and front, or the sides.
A-ha! http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Liners shows that different liners have the openings in different positions. From the shape of my liner I guess it was an Emerald and I should have docked from the front.
So I will try again...
