There has been one comment already on this and that was a few months ago:

I would still be very interested to have some more recent news on that. If anyone is using Oolite on a current Windows 10 build, let us know what your experience is.

Re: Will Oolite work on Windows 10 ?
i had to reinstall the OS as the win10 install corrupted on an update.. it is beta so....
from what i remember i think Oolite ran in compatibility mode for Win 7 or Win 8....cant remember but it did run..
that netbook is single core atom @ 1.6GHz with intel GMA950 graphics.... so it should run easily on a higher spec computer.

Whether Windows 10 will break your sanity, however, is another question entirely..Duggan wrote:I can happily report that Windows 10 has not broken my beloved Oolite .
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Oh no worries about my sanity ..that particular ship has long since departed the space dockWhether Windows 10 will break your sanity, however, is another question entirely..

I cant get it to run on Win 10 every time i try and install the game i get a flag saying
Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
Im not a complete dunce but this is beyond my meager PC skills and I did notice that the file is showing as a application not an exe. file
Any help on this would be helpful

Welcome aboard, Commander! I'm a Win7 holdout, so I can't help - but Oolite should work on WX.
You could try disabling your AV, perhaps - but hopefully someone who knows will be along soon.

Re: Will Oolite work on Windows 10 / 11 ?
According to various reports Windows 11 will be announced next week, so we can start worrying about that now...
https://www.windowscentral.com/windows-11-release-date
I don't understand the technicalities well enough to know what's changing, there are some leaks here focusing on the look of the thing
https://www.theverge.com/2021/6/15/2253 ... start-menu
but not much so far about what's happening under the hood.
Anyone here a beta tester?
