Now I can get on with my new pages on Economics and Her Imperial Majesty's
There's a fifty page long thread I need to wade through. But there are several theories as to what it is supposed to be. It seems to be one of the few cases of lore being based on the game code: Captain Carruthers of HIMSN! Can you tell me, in Classic Elite, was Captain Carruthers also in Her Imperial Majesty's Space Navy?
The HIMSN was originally intended to replace the aging Galactic Navy, unfortunately the project ended after the first Alpha release, it had some great improvements included.
BTW before I forget, thanks a lot to Maik and Winston, the latest update was done pretty fast.
Scars remind us where we've been. They don't have to dictate where we're going.
Not sure if it's a problem on my side or related to the latest wiki update. When I am trying to upload a file I receive following message:
Action failed
Could not open lock file for "mwstore://local-backend/local-public/0/0a/Navy_Shuttle_ADCK.png". Make sure your upload directory is configured correctly and your web server has permission to write to that directory.

Thanks for reporting this, montana05. It is something to fix on the server. I will take a look later today.

Clicking on it gives this:
Uploads: $wgUploadDirectory
The file system path of the upload directory.
Introduced in version: pre 1.1.0
Removed in version: still in use
Allowed values: (absolute path)
Default value: "{$IP}/images" (1.8+)
"{$IP}/upload" (pre 1.1.0 - 1.7)
(Note: The default value of this variable depends on other variables, such as the values set in Setup.php, after LocalSettings.php is executed)
Details
The file system path of the folder where uploaded files will be stored.
If this variable is changed, you may need to update $wgUploadPath accordingly.
This location needs to be writable by the web server. See Manual:Configuring file uploads#Check directory security.
By default, uploaded files are actually stored in subfolders of $wgUploadDirectory. See Manual:Configuring file uploads#Upload directory for information, and how to disable this behavior.
There are other variables which are defined relative to this one. If you redefine this in your LocalSettings.php then all dependent variables including $wgUploadPath will need redefining also. If both these settings are not coherent the files will be uploaded to different folder ($wgUploadDirectory) than from where MediaWiki will try to retrieve it for viewing ($wgUploadPath)!
And on returning to the upload page, one finds this:
The file you uploaded seems to be empty. This might be due to a typo in the filename. Please check whether you really want to upload this file.
And on returning to the upload page, one finds this:
I've had that, preceeded by,
File extension ".oxz" does not match the detected MIME type of the file (application/zip).
Despite the file appearing fine on closer inspection and even after careful recreation.
It's a problem on the server, Maik knows about it but until today the problem still remains.
The error message I get (The file you uploaded seems to be empty. This might be due to a typo in the filename. Please check whether you really want to upload this file.) is identical to that back in November: https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.ph ... 15#p272815

We visited Vienna last February - just before all the fun and games began. I managed to get a much better appreciation of the Austro-Hungarian Empire - at least in it's capital.
Question: How do people in Slovenia/Ljubljana think of themselves? As Slovenians? As Yugoslavs? As Austrians? Or even Venetians?
And what do people think of the Austrian Empire? And of La Serenissima?
Was it the same issue as last November? Or something new and exciting?
A follow-up to it: I wasn’t spending enough thought/time nor had the required privileges for getting directory permissions right so that files could be uploaded at all, plus upgrades of required software components which came with a default configuration (2MB upload limit). I assume after this is sorted out, the wiki should do again what it did before, and hopefully without touching it in the coming years
