So, I thought it was because I'd installed system-wide but even installing to /home/, downloading an OXZ fails. Interestingly, the list downloads just fine.....
Here's the what the Latest.log has to say on the matter:
14:25:59.860 [oxz.manager.error]: Downloaded OXZ does not contain a manifest.plist, has been left in /home/robert/GNUstep/Library/Caches/org.aegidian.oolite/Oolite-download.oxz
This is Oolite 1.90 running on Linux.

Maybe the "wiki down" announcements needs to be more prominent and actually read "oxz manager down--workaround". It is probably not clear to most that there is a dependency from the OXZ manager to the wiki.

That would explain.... good to know it isn't anything wrong with the installation. Thanks Maik.

I haven't experienced any problem on either type of install System or Home. I have not dled OXPs for a while. Last time I checked while the WIKI was down, I could grab the latest list of OXPs (674 so far).
...
Just checked. Yep downloads failed, related to WIKI server.
