Help! No grid on the IFF scanner

Hallo everybody.
I installed oolite on my Linux system and it works good but i have two problems:
- I have no grid on the IFF scanner. Tried changing the grafic options... nothing.
- No file .GNUstepDefaults in ~/GNUstep/Defaults/
Any suggestion?

Installed from Oolite repository.
Same error, although now i have the file .GNUstepDefaults.
No more ideas?

Would also be worthwhile to check if there are no X server options to improve the OpenGL compatibility for your graphics card.
