How does one do this? I have yet to find an instruction anywhere! Does it involve ancient Chaldaean Imprecations or Human Sacrifice?* Keyboard controls to cycle and select MFDs in reverse.

Press Ctrl + cycle or select MFD. Looks like this one slipped through the cracks in the documentation.
