Planet land colours.

Post by elite-player »

Hi. I like the new main planets. However the land is all just one colour.
I downloaded PlanetForest.oxp and I noticed that Lave was not added. So I added it myself.

In the planetinfo files, I used RGB colour codes and got an interesting effect for the land.

"0 7" = { // Lave - vast rain
land_color = "72 138 72 255";
polar_land_color = "120 68 33 255";
sea_color = "0 0 255 255";
polar_sea_color = "0 100 255 255";
cloud_color = "255 255 255 255";
polar_cloud_color = "255 255 255 255";
percent_cloud = 73;
percent_land = 51;
rotation_speed = 0.0001;
};

Lave now has a two tone coloured land mass (green and brown), instead of the normal single colour. I have no way of uploading a pic so can't show a screen shot.
I'm now in the process of changing other planets.

Looks nice. BTW, have you tried the latest nightly builds? Lave has been retouched to look more like a rainforest kind of planet. See pic for what it looks like now out of the box:

Host the image somewhere (Postimage is one example), then post a link.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!
