Just learned that the early May bank holiday this coming year will be on Friday 8th May, not Monday 4th May, since it's the 75th anniversary of VE day. Most calendars were printed with the wrong date! One event I can see that has been affected is the annual Canalway Cavalcade in London, which will be on 2nd-3rd May for two days, not three, there are probably others. And god only knows how many people's holidays will be screwed up!

I suspect that a LOT of people will end up taking Monday off as well as Friday - if the economy dips even more than expected in May that may be one of the reasons.
