Yep. If you are using Debian Sid, Oolite 1-65 is now available through the goodness of APT. 8)

It don't get much easier than that!

You surely mean 1.62-5 ;-)

Yeah, it's 1.62-5 in sid right now. EddyP is working on 1.65. ATM I used the autoinstaller because some OXPs need a newer version.

Actually, 1.65-2 (yes, 1.65-2, due to a mistake in 1.65-1, the later was not released) is ready, but since I am not a DD I am waiting for a sponsor to upload it. Dito for oolite-data.

People who use Debian and have non-free sources activated, already see 1.65-3 as the latest version.

Sorry to seem like a bastard, but: any chance we could get a source package? I run Debian unstable. If I had a source package, I'd gladly add ejectItem to other objects, and take a look at the text-sticking bug (no promises on that one!).

The source package is present. Just add a deb-src line to your /etc/apt/sources.list, then "apt-get update", "apt-get source oolite".

No, synaptic, aptitude, kynaptic do not show source packages. Since source packages are usually of interest only to developers and is expected that they know what they're doing, it has been decided that there is no need for such a thing :-).

$ apt-get source oolite
if you want to recompile the package you will need to

# apt-get build-dep oolite
to get the build dependencies, too.

To build the package, go into the oolite-1.65 directory resulted after the "apt-get source" line was ran and there run:

as a regular user (after installing the fakeroot package):

$ dpkg-buildpakage -rfakeroot -us -uc
or, as root (I don't recommend this):

# dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc

Thanks for the rundown! I've got fakeroot installed from compiling my custom kernel. This'll be a piece of cake.

Synaptic is nice for listing packages, especially new-in-repository stuff. Otherwise, apt-get is faster and easier.
