Spaceship Found in a Car Boot Sale
Found this in a car boot sale yesterday, couldn't resist:
I've had a lot of fun flying the Oolite version, it's nice to have a memento.
Anyone else found any interesting ships in weird places?

Xena and a purple haired cyclopes in a green ship.
I envy you your imagination.
Yes I did notice the box sets.
Leela V Xena. Now that is something I'd like to be light years away from. LOL

The "Leap, grab" reflex is strong in this one!
And quite bloody right too!

Re: Spaceship Found in a Car Boot Sale
And today I found one of these in a charity shop - for £2!
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/223587556937
Afraid this one will be going on sale, not on my bookcase - they're selling at £50 and up! I will have to give a cut to the charity if it makes a good amount.

Re: Spaceship Found in a Car Boot Sale
Would it be possible for you to take a number of photos for reference, in case someone wants to make a skin of it for in-game?
Actually, having literally broken a camera (footnote) previously trying to get my head around "photogrammetry", I'm fairly interested in trying. I could provide storage online for the photos.
The general process is to take as many photos as possible of the object from a variety of orientations. It's better to do nothing towards having a uniform background - objects in the background are used as part of the "stitching" process to make a 3d object from the photos. Once you've got the 6(-ish) orthogonal directions, the more images the merrier.
(footnote) I knocked the tripod over mid-photo-sesh, breaking the bayonet lugs off the lens - fortunately the lens was weaker than the camera body, but it was a real PITA.

OK - when I list it on eBay I'll be taking some pictures, I'll see what I can do.

Pictures are on Flickr - I would prefer not to leave them there indefinitely, please let me know when you have what you want. I've listed it on eBay, so I may not be able to take more pictures if someone buys it quickly.

This is supposed to be a smallish shuttle - up to four passengers and some limited cargo space. I don't think it had any sort of long range drive, they were for landing or short journeys in space. They carried two aboard Serenity. Inara's is mostly notable for a large luxurious bedroom.

Re: Spaceship Found in a Car Boot Sale
A quick question - were these all take on on the same camera and lens? It should be something the software can deal with, but I should have asked earlier. Changes in focus shouldn't make much odds, but going from fisheye to telescope in one set would probably make life more complicated.
Oh, hang on, exiftools to the rescue? And ... they're mostly on 55mm, which is fine. One thing fewer for the software to figure out.

Re: Spaceship Found in a Car Boot Sale
Yes, I think that's right. If you've got them I'll delete them from Flickr.
There's already a Serenity somewhere in the OXPs, I think - this really ought to be made to scale with that - there's a picture here that shows it but it's pretty small

Re: Spaceship Found in a Car Boot Sale
Is that in Staer9's "Shipset" OXP? No, it's an old-style OXP which doesn't work through the OXP manager. Box (where the OXP is stored) is playing up. Or maybe Staer9's account / files have gone?
