Non-standard Game Over or bug?

Post by Switeck »

I've got a very hacked Constrictor ship as my Oolite+OXP testing ship...it can hold >30,000TC, crazy top speed (0.999 LM), etc, etc.
Well, I also have a means of setting the Galactic Hyperdrive exit point, thanks to Quantum Drive OXP that I made.

I was wanting to jump from Galaxy Chart 3 top left to middle right Galaxy Chart 6 because I was testing misjump routes to the unreachable systems there. No luck so far, but I still have 1 or 2 more longshots to test!

And my first Galactic Hyperdrive jump counted down to 0, the screen turns light bluish-white, my ship blows up, and there's cargo containers everywhere.
I think there may either be a weird bug with checking >1000TC of cargo and/or there's a chance of failure of the Galactic Hyperdrive thanks to some OXP/OXZ I don't know about that I have installed.

Well, if you're using Ship Configuration (which you're probably not, but still), heat is applied to the ship during the run up to a hyperspace jump. If there are other heat sources impacting the ship, you could end up blowing your ship up that way.

It does have this on it:
heat_insulation = 10000; // Ridiculously high to survive post-nova environment.

But I'm not using Ship Configuration.
