PNG warnings

Post by herodotus »

Hey all,

Not sure if this is the best place to ask, but: in trying to debug some problems recently I noticed that the log file has *lots* of warnings about incorrect sRGB profiles for pngs from various OXPs - YAH and ZygoCinematicNebulae being particular culprits, with a sprinkling of others from various other OXPs. Is this "normal"? Is this something OXP authors ought to be fixing or is something that indicates a problem with a png library on my machine?

Cheers,

Beyond my ken, but I run a stripped-down version of ZygoCinematicNebulae, and haven't seen any .png warnings.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Windows - and I'd guess you're on Mac?

Yep, I'm on Arch and I have libpng1.6. They're mainly warnings although I think there are a few errors in there as well. I guess I'll just have to live with it or turn the warnings off unless/until the OXP authors fix their pngs... Oh well, at least I know what's happening now!

@herodotus
Have you tried the oolite.org package? It is actually the recommended package to use.
