OK, since nobody else seems to be getting anywhere - you have the first two right, the third is The New Adam by Stanley G. Weinbaum. Just realised that there's no Wikipedia summary for it so it isn't easy to research - basically, it's another mental superman story similar to Odd John. He also wrote a superwoman story, The Adaptive Ultimate, filmed as She Devil (1957) and adapted for TV several times, but that isn't a novel. Other possibilities include Doc Savage, The Shadow, etc.

I think the flipper is yours!

OK… find three pop songs (NOT theme tunes, or music linked to or referring to film or TV) which have spaceflight as a theme, and post links to audio/video. For clarity, something like Star Trekkin' would obviously fail the "not linked to film or TV" test.

'Pop' songs? Hmm... off the top of my head:

2000 Light Years from Home - Rolling Stones - link.
I lost My Heart to a Starship Trooper - Hot Gossip - link.
Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft - Klaatu - link.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Shipper?

Staying musical, this intro should lead you to which sci-fi movie?

Yeah, a tad short - but fans of the band would probably have known it instantly.

The song has no connection to the movie in question, other than they share the same title. The song was originally released as a single, but it was definitely not 'top of the pops'. However, it became a classic live number. Have a slightly longer clip - name that tune, name the movie!

<grins> You're in the right era and genre - the clip is from a 23-minute track. Have another clue: Captain Trips.
