On the front page of Gile's Oolite site there is a link to a ship-building tutorial. There's a link there to the python script file that does the conversion.

If I remember correctly, there is a short instruction on how to run it there too. I can't check at the mo because work has blocked the Oolite site...

Thanks, They are the collected wit and wisdom(?) of my favourite Oolite Commander, the luckless Captain Hesperus and the hotch-potch wierdo crew he hired to fly his ageing Python ET Special through various misadventures. One day, I'll write down some of his tales and put them up somewhere.

The Mystery has liftet.. after all the years

NOW anyone has posted Pictures from the C64 Cougar.. and it matches my encountered Ship.
Then next, someone writes exactly the same
Again, I really met a Cat/Cougar ship in that game (same ship design and everything). It wasn't a mission; I just 'found' it... and even though I didn't actually get a cloaking device after destroying the ship, the ship itself did have a cloaking device fitted, because it was invisible on my radar, and very hard to destroy too (stronger shields than the Constrictor).

It is possible to make an OXP from it? with invisibility??

After almost 8 years away from the boards, Welcome back, mocbo! 8)

You may have set a new record for thread necromancy, too..

Have you tried out Oolite 1.80 yet?
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

I encountered one also on the Commodore 64 version of Elite -- saw it maybe 3-5 times.

There's a few OXPs which provide the Cat/Cougar hull. As I recall the Staer9 one at least is a tough fight - the OldShips one was a little more straightforward. I don't think either has invisibility though (not that it needs it with the rest of its armaments...) - http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Cat_%28Oolite%29

There are NO Cougar like the C64 Version existing as OXP ?.
I am not interestet on the existing Cougar OXP because it do not matches the agressive build C64 Version with its long Pylons and flat Center Body

Whats Wrong.. The Wireframe Model is clear?

About OOlite.. I have played 1.7x in the Time before and after Christmas 2013.
Now i am await the New Elite Dangerous.. to be released.. not the Patch ans Bug Building Site Beta Version.

Greetings

Heh. I need to remember to reinstall that sometime. Though I think it's frequency needs to be cut down, and it needs to be visible longer before bad things happen (for the noobs so they can wonder about it for a while) or maybe you need to be in a certain range. For me, it always happens at the edge of radar.

It is only invisivle on the Scanner.. not in direct optical View, but this Fact give him a great tactical Opportunity in Combat.
The Ship can fire before the Victim get noticed and alertet from its presence by Scanner Detection. In a tight furball (m Often on Elite and Oolite) it can kill his Target unhurriedly and unnoticed from the Target, without counterfire.

This Ship can be bring some new aspects in OOlite with its original Appearance from the c64

Greetings

Moc

P.s. When i found time, I try to make a 3d Model and then an OXP
