The SpaceX BFR (Big Fucking Rocket) looks delightfully like a pulp sci-fi rocketship. Too late for me, but I hope they deliver!
Then there's Earth to Earth: breakfast in London, elevenses in Sydney, lunch in LA, tea in Cape Town, and dinner in London.

Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Re: BFR
If they can deliver a base/colony on Mars, I'll forgive them that - but I won't see it.
Remember this?
Remember this?
Nearly fifty years since the Apollo program - not even a return visit, let alone a moonbase. <sighs wistfully>Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed.

And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Likewise.. I don't give a damn about Elon's other BS.. I just want that Mars base.
Heh.. the one thing I'll never forget, no matter how long I live.. I was less than 6 weeks short of 9 years old when that happened. Schools didn't have AV equipment back then, so my teacher took her entire class back to her place to watch it live on her TV. One of the defining moments of my life.
And I second the sighs.

I watched it from a bar in Spain.

Re: BFR
I was 12 and was allowed to stay up really late to watch it on TV.
