It might be related to the OS, because we've been through a long saga in order to get https downloads to work through the manager (See this thread for all the details). Are you using v1.85 of Oolite, or v1.84? If you're on 1.84, this will definitely be the issue. If you're using 1.85, though, there might be some edge cases the fixes didn't cover.

I'm using the 1.84 Developer build from the link on the website. I decided to stay off the nightly builds and stick with latest stable. I'll upgrade my Oolite and let you know if the issue goes away.

I would love to be able to install this oxp as I do mine quite a bit but unfortunately the download manager always spits it's dummy out when attempting to do so (Download failed! See Latest.log).
I am running 1.84 on a linux system (manjaro), should I be able to download this oxp?
O.C.T.D (Oolite Crash Test Dummy) Hmm Hmm Hmm Hmm......

Try downloading it direct from the OXP list here, then drop it into your AddOns folder.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

That's because you are using 1.84 and Linux. You need to use the Dev version 1.85 for it to work in Linux with the downland manager. This is due to bitbucket using https.

The top post on the first page has a direct download for the OXZ file, you can simply drop the file into your oolite/addons folder as is and the game will pick it up. No need to unpack it.

Hope this helps :)

*ahh cody got in there first by seconds :P BAM!"

Thanks for that.
Please forgive my ignorance in this matter ( I am lazy and use the doanload manager for all my oxps) but could you help me a little further please as I have 2 folders named AddOns associated with oolite.
The first is located /home/usrname/GNUstep/Applications/Oolite/AddOns
The second is located /home/usrname/.Oolite/AddOns

Which is the correct directory to place the download in please?

Many thanks again for you help and guidance

I would try the first one as that's where I put my addons in Ubuntu. I don't have a folder called /home/username/.Ooline/AddOns

That sorted things out nicely.
Just had a very quick mine with the new equipment installed.
Have to say it's a great, simplistic but very well thought out and effective solution for mapping out your route and next target when mining.
Well done!
No more zipping off course after what you think (when looking at the scanner) is maybe a boulder but turns out to be a solitary splinter with no value.

Hats off to you again Newt sir, well done.
