That's the bit with the actual … y'know … connotations. A medical term, but … let us pass over this quickly, and move on.

Mind you, it didn't seem to disturb Dutch tennis star Robin Haase, in his quest for sponsorship:

"Frell!" and its derivatives, Farscape.

"Stomm!" and "Drokk!" both from Judge Dredd.

"E chu ta!" is a Huttese curse-word that shocks C3PO in The Empire Strikes Back

Malacandra wraps it up and gets the chipper! Other potential expletives could have included "Grud!" (Judge Dredd again), "Frak!" (Battlestar Galactica), and possibly "nerf herder" (also from The Empire Strikes Back).

Okay...

What's unusual about the sex scene towards the end of the John Varley short "The Phantom of Kansas"?

lol do clones count i wonder? as neither of them was the "real" Fox , the original that is.
i find my self intrigued by the "Invaders" and that back story, i wonder if he wrote more about this universe he created....
Arthur: OK. Leave this to me. I'm British. I know how to queue.
OR i could go with
Arthur Dent: I always said there was something fundamentally wrong with the universe.

Yes, he did. It's called the "Eight Worlds Series", although my knowledge of Varley begins and ends with the short story collection "In The Hall Of The Martian Kings" which includes the one I referred to in my question. The premise is that the Invaders have driven humans off Earth but they have the rest of the solar system, except Jupiter, as living space.

And yes, the unusual thing about this is that the two people are both clones of the same person, one of them sex-changed which is a trivial medical procedure in the 27th century.

It's your turn in the barrel!

My first thought was Harry Harrison's Star Smashers of the Galaxy Rangers but I don't remember there being teleportation. Were there space ships in The Tomorrow People?

With a bit of googling and guesswork, I think it's E. E. "Doc" Smith's The Galaxy Primes:

Thanks … a gaming question, this time: name the source of the quote

“BAD MOVE, SPACE CADET”

(my apologies if this triggers any flashbacks … :) )

This has really annoyed me because I recognised the plot and even had in mind it might be Smith, but could I remember it?! I even lost my google-foo.
